Slippery Socks

The final project of my first year of knitting!

The cable pattern was rather complicated, but not hard. It just took a while!

Pattern: Slippery Socks by Olivia M. from the Winter 2007 Knitty
Yarn: Socks That Rock in Christmas Balls (thanks Mandy!)

Pie Socks

I couldn't get the idea for these out of my head, inspired by the Citrine Socklets pattern and the crossover stitches on my WIP sweater, Wicked. I had to knit them up so I could stop thinking about them. Featuring an eye of partridge heel, and a row of purl stitches at the start of the toe (I love how it looks. I always think there should be a "seam" there.) these are fancy socks for 3 year old Princess feet. 42 sts on US#2 needles. The yarn is Dalegarn Baby Ull.

Abigail, The Happy Monster

This is Abigail, the only knitted toy Livi has ever asked for me to make her. I finished her last night and gave her to Livi this morning. She LOVES her! That makes for a happy Mommy. The look on Livi's face when I gave her the monster was priceless. I live for these mommy moments.

Chihuahua sweater for a dog much smaller than a dingo

I finished this little thing last week. It's a custom-sized sweater for my youngest daughter's daycare teacher using the Friends of Wylie pattern. Up to now, the family has been clothing their little chihuahua puppy in Webkinz jackets because all the commercially available sweaters have been too small.

Christmas Knitting

Here it is, the extent of my holiday knitting. My mom requested (on multiple occasions) that I knit her a pair of socks, so I thought it would make a nice Christmas present. She usually wears the sport-type little white ankle socks, so when I saw the pattern for the Citrine Socklets in Interweave Knits Holiday Gifts (2007) I thought they would be perfect. I love the cable pattern, but the short-row heels gave me a bit of trouble. I think they turned out okay, after many, many attempts. I prefer a heel flap and picking up stitches, but how will I advance as a knitter if I don't try new techniques?

At any rate, socks for mom:

Pattern: Citrine Socklets
Yarn: Baby Ull
Needles: US#2 Addi Turbos

The sock blockers are also part of her gift, along with a cute beaded stitch marker and a skein of Trekking XXL in a pretty pastel colorway. I hope she likes it!

The Dingo Knitters

We are a group of women who love to run and we call ourselves the Dingos. But some of us like to knit almost as much as we like to run, so we started this blog to discuss and share all things knitting.
